Meet the Journey Men of Lapis Sky:
Claude Fonseca on lead vocal and bass guitar fronts Lapis Sky with captivating song-writing and stage presence. A veteran of the Sydney scene with bands ‘Bare Bones’ and ‘Grey Zone’, he spearheads the Lapis Sky frontline with thundering bottom end. Claude’s originals form the base of the band’s live set, along with an astute selection of reworked covers.
Charles Mouyat is Lapis Sky's guitarist & second vocalist. His guitar playing is a balancing act that relies on both a sweet caress and savage attack of his overdriven Stratocaster. Having lead ‘the Deep’ and ‘the Mojo Corporation’ along similar paths, Charles is no stranger to good funk and solid rock music with his tight original songs peppering Lapis Sky's repertoire.
Seed is the band’s resident groove merchant, and he lays the beat down with the conviction of a surgical strike. Seed is an experienced Sydney muso, having played drums professionally for Sydney bands “Back to Funk” and “Gypsy Bangles”, Seed’s heart beats the kind of rhythm that makes the Lapis Sky engine room a tour-de-force.
Dan Parise rounds out Lapis Sky's sound with consummate vox & keyboard skills. His electric boogie & pulsing organ has the effect of pushing Lapis Sky into outer space. Dan has lead Blues, Jazz and Funk bands which include "Slewfoot" and "The Mighty Bullfrog", Dan brings with him many years of musical experience and creativity.

What's in a name?
The band is named after “lapis lazuli”, a precious stone traditionally used for royal blue pigment, and associated with the throat chakra (or mystical voice). The blue “sky” signifes hope, vision and limitless potential. “Lapis Sky” is music that defies gravity, is as free as the wind, yet brought to Earth by the will of the band.
The Lapis Sky Sound:
With rich melodies woven into dense beds of pop, rock, reggae and funk, the Lapis Sky sound is a unique sonic cocktail that can be described comparitively as; ‘Thin Lizzy meet Santana via Jaaames Browwwwn!’

History:
A long time admirer of Claude’s soulful vocal and catchy song writing, Chuck made it known that he’d join Claude in any opportunity to electrify his then acoustic band, Bare Bones. After being moved by a literal dream-calling to “bring back the funk”, Claude sent out his invitation in late 2011. Chuck was primed for the opportunity, and suggested Seed as the third leg on drums. Their mission took flight as the chemistry between the three was instantaneous. Finally the formula was complete with the addition of Dan Parise & his Keyboard wizardry.
Lapis Sky are currently performing in selected Sydney gigs with another album in the works.
